NEERJA PATEL - FOUNDER
Neerja began her PR and Marketing career working with Sahara Television in New York City. After garnering years of experience in the South Asian media industry and managing events such as the AR Rahman Talent Hunt, Slumdog Millionaire Premiere Party, numerous press conferences, movie premiers, and community events she launched Neerja Public Relations, a full service South Asian Media relations company. Her strong relationships with nearly every South Asian media platform has helped secure clients in various industries and enabled them to reach their ideal target markets. Neerja uses her extensive media resources and goes over and beyond to garner positive publicity for every PR campaign. Her passion for her field is evident in every project she spearheads and her devotion is visible in the time and effort she instills in her client.
RASHI SHYAM - EVENT PARTNER
Rashi is the Founder of Event Nirvana, a South Asian Corporate Event and Wedding planning firm. She has been successfully planning events since 2002, when she began co-managing premiere parties for films such as Monsoon Wedding and Bend It like Beckham. She has planned, and managed events for numerous South Asian companies and events. Rashi has her MBA in Marketing and Management, and has worked for both the Metropolitan Opera and Lehman Brothers. Her love of the Arts combined with her knowledge of Finance enables her to produce beautiful events, but keeps the budget in mind. KANIKA MARWAHA - DIRECTOR OF EVENTSKanika Marwaha is a host, emcee and an active leader on several South Asian non-profit boards working to raise funds and awareness throughout the community. She balances her volunteer activities while pursuing a career on Wall Street specializing in Equity Research, Alternative Investments and Business Analysis. Kanika has been recognized by the Sankara Eye Foundation and Nassau County for Excellence in Community Service. Kanika graduated with a M.S. in Financial Economics and Multinational Commerce from Boston University in 2007, and remains active in the BU community by speaking at events throughout NY, and interviewing hopeful high school seniors applying to BU. Kanika has announced the red carpet at the Second Annual Varli Food Festival, hosted the National Press Conference for the Kailash Kher Concert Tour and emcee’ed the Kailash Kher concert in New Jersey.
